The overall purpose of this position in the Weigh, Price, Label Department is to ensure Perdue product is correctly labeled and boxed for customer orders.

The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the direction of management and, while generally as shown below, there may be changes (increased or decreased) by management as required.

Hours of Work: Generally Wed – Sat 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Tues – Fri 7:00 PM – 5:30 AM, OR Sun-Tues 7:00 AM- 7:30 PM or until production is complete. Overtime may be scheduled as needed and directed by management.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Stack totes 30 high on green pallets.

Manage return to stock (RTS) totes, keep the area organized. Must know product codes and follow first in first out rule (FIFO) with harvest dates.

Able to lift empty totes above shoulders to complete pallets.

Assist on the elevator when needed as well as other stations along the production line processing poultry food products.

Separate condemned and donated products to the specified area.

Keep tote conveyor clear of blue totes and pull extra labels that are left on totes.

Complete clean up at the end of each shift, put broken tote rods in the tote to return to sending plant.

Maintain a safe work area, including communicating with Lineage to move pallets during and at the end of the shift.

Adheres to all safety requirements including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.

Maintains clean and safe working environment.

Participates in Company and department safety programs.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Basic reading, writing, and analytical skills are required. Must be able to comprehend and follow SOP’s.

Experience Requirements

Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.

Experience Preferred

Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Work in a plant enviornment in temperatures consistently as low as 28 degrees Fahrenheit with high ambient humidity.

May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

Lifting at knee level and some bending.

Handling products between 1-60 lbs when stacking extra or mislabeled products.

May be exposed to all chemicals used in facility.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

Must be able to work in confined and or permit required confined spaces and heights.

Must be able to work on and or around operating equipment.

Lifting and sliding 35-65 lbs.

Continual standing during shifts.

Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
