Job Title: Lead Machine Operator
Shift: Rotating 12-hour NIGHT shift (8pm to 8am)
Department: Production
Location: Middletown, OH

Reports To: Shift Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Job Description:

Leads, assists, troubleshoots, and trains production personnel on shift in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures with integrity and ethical behaviors to meet established performance goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety of personnel and equipment
  • Ensure quality of our products and quality of employee performance
  • Provide continual training of crews in all aspects of operations
  • Assist Machine Operators with setups and troubleshooting of downtime events
  • Assist supervisor daily with responsibilities for shift
  • Promote teamwork and a team atmosphere on shift

This position requires:

  • At least 4 to 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry
  • Previous Lead Operator experience of 2 to 4 years.
    • Experience consisting of leading personnel groups preferred.
  • Position goal: to become a supervisor within 3 to 4 years
  • Ability to train and coach current operator personnel
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Teamwork attitude
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to understand and perform machine-specific Preventative Maintenance
  • Must have a high school diploma or its equivalency
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist on a regular basis
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts with mandatory overtime, including weekends
