Perdue AgriBusiness, LLC has an immediate opening for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our Zion Church Road, Salisbury, MD facility. This position will be responsible for performing assigned maintenance duties within scope of classification to include production equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown and equipment failure. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position will be a part of the field team that is responsible for traveling to various facilities within the assigned region.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Diagnose failures to mechanical equipment and make repairs. Rebuild mechanical equipment, gearboxes, pump systems, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics and production equipment. Reads, interprets and understands manufacturers' equipment manuals, preventative (PM) task sheets and safety policies. Performs equipment adjustments and repairs, preventative maintenance and emergency breakdowns. Performs specific duties during both production and non-production hours in a timely manner with OSHA Lockout/Tagout and Company safety regulations. Monitors performance of equipment and informs maintenance and production supervisors of potential problems. Maintains log books by applying math skills through the equipment PM stages in order to calibrate machinery to performance standards.

- Further education or technical training (preferred)
1 - 4 years of work experience is required (includes the repair/maintenance of gearbox systems, pump systems, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics and production equipment). Knowledge of welding, basic electricity and piping is required. Strong math, analytical and communication skills. Be proficient with standard software applications and systems. Ability to work in confined spaces at various heights and in prevailing weather conditions. Must pass a DOT physical and have a valid state driver's license. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is active. On and around the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. May need to move equipment occasionally. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in agriculture or feed processing. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
