TemperPack is a rapidly growing company based in Richmond, Virginia and Las Vegas, NV. We design and manufacture innovative, sustainable packaging components for cold-chain shipping of food and pharmaceutical products. The markets we serve have an urgent need for disruptive, sustainable alternatives to replace the wide array of non-sustainable packaging materials conventionally used in the cold-chain such as Styrofoam coolers. Our aspiration is to provide packaging solutions that customers and end-consumers feel great about using.

Will be part of a core TemperPack ClimaCell team that assists shift leadership and engineers in changing the world one package at a time. Incumbent has a hands-on role in guiding this process to improve quality and capability while also gaining hands-on experience with equipment operation and leadership role.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proper safety leadership and guidance while supporting 24/7 production of extruding and converting operations and leading a rotating shift in the absence of the Production Supervisor.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and manage production quality and operating conditions to maintain and improve KPIs.
  • Assist the ClimaCell Manager, ClimaCell Assistant Manager and maintenance as required for complex or rapid diagnosis and repair of issues.
  • Create standards, develop procedures and train appropriate personnel. 
  • Operate machines as needed in absence of machine operators, or for product and standards development.
  • Analyze the process and recommend improvement opportunities. 
  • Lead improvement projects and implementation of machine or process upgrades such as reliability, safety improvements and quality development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of safe operation of ClimaCell equipment rotating and high speed machinery.
  • Basic knowledge of safety rules including lockout/tagout.
  • Knowledge of machine functionality and standard operating conditions.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts plus support on-call as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others and as part of a team including across functional areas such as R&D, sales, and operations. Previous training & experience in structured problem solving preferred such as LEAN or Six Sigma. Able to wear PPE (for example, safety glasses, ears plugs, closed toed shoes, respirator and overalls) for extended periods. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Effective oral and written communication skills.


Education and Certifications

  • Four-year college education. BS/B Eng Engineering (mechanical, industrial, chemical, materials)


  • Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing or industrial research experience.
