Perdue AgriBusiness has an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Crops Intern in our Greensboro, NC office.
The Intern will be responsible for providing administrative, clerical and inventory management support to the Commercial & Operations teams.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support the day to day activities of the General Manager by providing administrative and clerical support to include, but not limited to the following:
- Assist with processing accounts payable & related record keeping
- Assist with sales account management record keeping
- Assist with quality control data accumulation, entry and reporting
- Assist with onsite inventory counts, reconciliations and record keeping
- Assist with remote inventory planning, coordination and record keeping
Must be a Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at an accredited university in a relevant field of study. Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher; 3.25 GPA or higher is highly preferred.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have strong communication skills including written and verbal. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be motivated, accountable and proactive. Must be able to work independently or in teams.
Academic focus in business, accounting or the sciences preferred. Some prior experience or knowledge of agriculture preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Normal climate-controlled office and warehouse environment. Able to communicate on the telephone and use standard office equipment. Able to move freely throughout the facility. Position is mostly sedentary but will require occasional physical activity managing warehoused inventory. May need to move light equipment (up to approximately 40 lbs) or supplies from one place to another.
