The Facilities Associate supports the work of and is supervised by the Facilities Director on work including general maintenance and a variety of site projects helping to maintain a 2-acre community farm and education center. The campus includes approximately 1 acre of food production, extensive areas of perennial native and non-native plants, and a variety of buildings and other farm structures.



SITE MAINTENANCE: The Facilities Associate is responsible for:

  • Basic site maintenance, including painting, basic plumbing, light electrical, and building maintenance and light repairs
  • Keeping a detailed inventory of site tools and equipment, maintaining tools and equipment, farm truck maintenance, materials and tool storage areas / sheds, site upkeep including restroom cleanings between professional cleanings, maintaining the refuse system for the site, and general site cleaning
  • Assist with the maintenance, repair, and improvement of farm infrastructure and buildings
SITE DEVELOPMENT: Assist the Facilities Director to build infrastructure such as farm animal housing / fencing, shop space build-out, storage sheds, small structures, etc.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Facilities Associate works closely with the Facilities Director on administrative tasks including:
  • Maintaining the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Creating and maintaining expense reports, invoices, and contracts
  • Materials sourcing
  • Supply list maintenance
The Facilities Associate may occasionally be asked to work in areas outside of the responsibilities described above. In addition, the Facilities Associate will at times work with other teams, including farm and program staff.

For insurance purposes, it is required that the individual has a clean U.S. driver’s license and is comfortable driving a mid-size pickup truck.


  • Possess basic skills or experience related to maintaining and making small repairs to building interiors and exteriors as well as hardscape features (paths, fences, gates, irrigation, etc.)
  • Proficient in basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, etc.
  • Familiarity with CMMS software such as FIIX
  • Proficiency in any of the following additional skill-sets are also helpful: electrical, carpentry, framing, and plumbing

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and for this position the salary range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 per year. Compensation also includes health care coverage and paid vacation, as described in Urban Adamah’s personnel code.

This is a full-time position, generally Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasionally, the Facilities Associate may be asked to work evenings or weekends, while not being expected to work more than a 40-hour week, unless being compensated for any overtime hours. This is a non-exempt position.

This position is supervised by the Facilities Director.
