The Warehouse Leader is responsible for the stocking and inventories for warehouse supplies and the daily activities of the warehouse department. The position must keep the warehouse in a neat and orderly condition and interact with customers in a positive manner. Will be responsible for receiving supplies, and distributing them to customers.


  • Job Requirements Include:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Fork Lift experience/certification preferred.
  • Must be able to work an average 40-hour week with limited overtime, which can vary frequently.
  • Weekend, evening, and holiday work required as needed.
  • Must be on call to work in emergency situations to include but not limited to, power outages or personnel shortages.
  • Ability to utilize math to calculate supply needs and plan storage/transport requirements
  • Must possess written and verbal communication skills to support customers and effectively communicate expectations to team members in English.
  • Ability to read and understand company communications in English and apply them in the workplace.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Follow the safety requirements of the Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS).
  • Order supplies and deliver supplies
  • Write purchase orders
  • Drive Forklift and other assigned mobile equipment.
  • Responsible for daily/weekly supply orders
  • Pull, organize and verify supply orders
  • Performs monthly inventory audits and weekly audit verification with supervisor
  • Restock shelves from inbound freight.
  • Fills requisitions from walk in customers on a daily basis.
  • Assists all customers with supply needs
  • Responsible for being in compliance with all Biosecurity policies, environmental laws, and SIPS policies and procedures to which Smithfield subscribes.
  • Involve supervision for assistance as needed.
  • Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield Hog Production subscribes.
  • Understand and comply with company EMS policies and procedures in the performance of their job duties.
  • Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
  • Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.
  • Perform all other activities and responsibilities as defined by management.

    Abilities Required:
  • Must be able to walk and stand on concrete for 6 to 8 hours per day, walking down narrow alleys and in and out of narrow penning.
  • Must be able to walk an average of 1—2 miles per day, occasionally up to 5 or 6.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a limited basis.
  • Must be able to occasionally work in situations two feet above the floor in a leaned-over or squatted position.
  • Must be able to wear steel-toed shoes
  • Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment

    Required Competencies:
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (training to be completed during on-site orientation)
  • Forklift Certification
  • Intermediate computer skills Microsoft Office Programs
  • Organized and a self-starter
